Safety & Compliance

At Bobcat Contracting, safety is of primary importance.  The Company’s commitment to safety begins before any potential employee is hired, as Bobcat Contracting subjects each applicant to pre-employment drug screening, a criminal background check, and drivers license check.  Upon hire, employees must first complete an extensive safety orientation course.   New hires then receive operator qualification (OQ) training and testing.  Employees also take an OSHA 10 hour course, receive first aid / CPR training bi-annually, and participate in HAZWOPER training with an annual refresher course. 

Mandatory company-wide training courses are conducted on a quarterly basis.  Job safety analysis reports are completed for each project on a weekly basis by each job foreman.  Each crew foreman also conducts daily toolbox safety meetings every morning before work begins.  In order to reinforce the Company’s commitment to safety, Bobcat Contracting hires an outside safety company to conduct monthly unannounced on-site safety inspections of each jobsite.

The Company’s safety program is monitored and approved by National Compliance Management Services, Inc. (NCMS), based in Hutchinson, Kansas.  NCMS assists oil and gas operators with contractor pre-qualification as it relates to federally-mandated regulations and/or specific operator requirements.  NCMS is utilized by many major oil and gas pipeline companies including ExxonMobil, TEPPCO, Explorer, Koch, ConocoPhillips, Atmos Energy, and many others.
